Tell me if I’m wrong here, but to me it feels like the Moto G should have been this year’s Nexus. It would have been really cool to see them step on event stage presenting a light weight 4.4 for the next generation of phones. Show it running nice and smooth on the latest Nexus. Present it as if it was a true flagship ultra spec’ed model and hear the reaction (or maybe even outrage) to the specs of the latest and greatest.
Oh, and by the way… It starts at 180 bucks. Key confusion. If they’d want to tell the world that 4.4 is their new direction, that seems a good way to get the message across. Let LG, HTC, Samsung, and Sony do the monsters like G2, One (max), Note 3, or Xperia’s. If they would sell me the Moto G under the name Nexus with all that that entails, I’d buy it in a heartbeat and be happy to keep it on the table next to my Note 3.
Sorry if I went long again, but if it is worth saying it is worth saying right, right? Still lovin’ the show, so keep up the good work.
