No Simulcast tonight

Since we all could not get together tonight we are not going to be able to do a show. If our schedules are free in the next couple of days we will send out a tweet with the date and time. If we can’t get together we will be back next week with another mad capped episode of The Simulcast.

We apologize for the short notice.

Did I Just Pay Apple for a Service Pack?

Mac OS X Service Pack

Although my whining about the delayed shipment of my Snow Leopard upgrade disc fell on deaf ears, it arrived earlier than expected last night thanks to the USPS.

The upgrade process was painless. Install disc, click, click, wait. 37 minutes later, the ordeal was over and my MacBook Pro was upgraded. I HAZ SNOW LEOPARD!

I began to look for changes. A couple of minor icon tweaks, a few new options. No more ‘Picture 1′ screengrabs. Where is this mythical new operating system that Apple has been touting? Of all the things that Snow Leopard is supposed to be, the one description I’m not hearing is “Service Pack”.

Nice job Apple. You somehow convinced millions of Mac users to pay for a service pack just by giving it a cool name and some hype.

Now THAT’s genius.
